Greater Manchester Law Centre has developed the attached guide to support residents and support organisations to assist people through the current health emergency.

This guide was originally in June 2020 during the first coronavirus lockdown to provide basic advice on employment, benefits, housing and debt during the Covid-19 pandemic. The guide was updated in March 2021 to provide updated advice, as many provisions for tenants, claimants and workers have changed.

Click on the buttons below to see the guidance.

If you do not understand the guidance, you can call us to get updated advice on 0161 769 2244 or by emailing reception@gmlaw.org.uk.

Doctors of the World and the British Red Cross have also produced Covid vaccine guidance in 31 different languages, available here. Please share with those who would benefit from translated guidance.

Doctors of the World have also produced a briefing for organisations and authorities on how to deliver the vaccine to marginalised groups, including rough sleepers and homeless people, which you can access and share from here.

Zero Covid campaign

GMLC is affiliated to the Zero Covid campaign, which aims to push the government and local authorities to apply a Zero Covid strategy to eliminate the virus and ensure we can return to all aspects of our lives safely. Amongst other things, they are arguing for:

  • effective and widespread vaccination scheme;
  • financial support for isolation so people can afford to stay off work if they need to;
  • safe workplaces;
  • public Test & Trace system.

You can see more recent news and events from the campaign on its website here.
