A month ago we promised to demand that the political parties headed to the General Election commit themselves to ensuring free access to justice for all those who have become victims of homelessness, racism and the hostile environment which operates against migrants and claimants.
We contacted Boris Johnson, Jeremy Corbyn, Jo Swinson and Caroline Lucas. Then we contacted the Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrat and Green Party candidates standing across Greater Manchester. We urged volunteers to contact the candidates in their constituency. We tweeted and emailed candidates again to remind them.
We wanted to fulfil our duty to put forward our policies and campaign for the support of those involved in the political process. This report illustrates the responses we had ahead of General Election 2019. We cannot, as a law centre, support or oppose any particular political party but we can urge you to read our report and to fight to secure access to justice for all across Greater Manchester, and indeed, the United Kingdom.
