Volunteers and contributions are going to be the backbone of this community law centre. Here, you can read about the many ways in which you, either as an individual or as a representative of an organisation, can get involved.

Volunteers

Volunteers are the backbone of the law centre. We are always looking for volunteers to help run our clinics, fundraise or increase our visibility in the community. To apply to join our volunteer team, fill in this form

Members

For those that want to make a commitment to the running of the law centre, becoming a member is ideal. Membership, once approved by our management committee, will entitle you to:

  • Receive our regular newsletter, including the many ways you can get involved with the law centre
  • Details of our latest events
  • Attend our public meetings
  • Vote at our Annual General Meeting (AGM)

Our membership fees are £5 per year (band 1/unwaged) or £20 per year (band 2/waged)

Friends

Becoming a Friend of the law centre will entitle you to:

  • Receive our regular newsletter, including the many ways you can get involved with the law centre
  • Details of our latest events
  • Attend our public meetings

Affiliates

An affiliate is a large organisation such as  a firm, chamber or Trade Union who pays a fee to the law centre which will entitle them to:

  • Our quarterly newsletter and information about the upcoming events.
  • Acknowledgement as an affiliate in our literature for public events, as well as our website and annual reports.

Affiliates may also apply for membership status and thus be entitled to vote in the AGM as a representative of their respective organisation. Affiliates who wish to have voting rights at the AGM, as with Members, must complete a membership form for approval by the Management Committee.

It will be at the discretion of the management committee to determine whether an organisation is suitable for affiliate or supporter status (below). To enquire about Affiliate status, please email *protected email*

Supporters

A supporter is an organisation that does not pay a monthly fee to the law centre. They will be entitled to:

  • Our quarterly newsletter and information about the upcoming events.
  • Acknowledgement as an affiliate in our literature for public events, as well as our website and annual reports.

Supporters may also become members and thus be entitled to vote in the AGM as a representative of their respective organisation. Supporters who wish to have voting rights at the AGM, as with Members, must complete a membership form for approval by the Management Committee. It will be at the discretion of the management committee to determine whether an organisation is suitable for supporter or affiliate status (above).
